God of our wildest dreams

God can do anything, you know – far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the generations! Glory through the millennia! Oh, yes!

Ephesians 3 : 20 - 21 (GNB)

Think of the wildest dream that you have ever had, then double it, triple it and quadruple it and still it doesn't even scratch the surface of what God is capable of. The same God that can move mountains, and throw stars into the sky is with you and is interested in your life!

God has control over all things yet willingly grants us freedom. Freedom to make choices in our lives, both good and bad. God has chosen for us to be individuals with our own thoughts and quirky ways of doing things, and whatÂ’s more he loves us for it. God wants people to love him, and want to please him out of choice not because they have to, or because they are bullied through fear.

What is the craziest dream that you have had? What do you aspire to do in your life? Bigger than a nice job, bigger than having lots of money or a flashy car? What are your big dreams, the ones that you can never envisage happening. These are the dreams where you need to put your trust in God. As God has the power to answer all of these dreams, but not always with a yes, and not always in the way that you might expect.

Sometimes God uses our dreams and aspirations as ways to communicate with us. Subtly guiding us using his Holy Spirit to show us his plans and the things that he would like us to do. We should take note of our dreams but also seek advice from the Bible and our Christian friends, especially when it involves big decisions.

So go and dream great big Godly dreams, having faith that God has the power to answer them in ways far beyond our understanding. Have a great week.
